Henry Ansu reacts to viral dye-stained pants images against Legon Cities

Asante Kotoko defender, Henry Ansu, has debunked that Kotoko’s away shirts had dye stains in them due to the players sweating during their game against Legon Cities on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

Images of the reddish stains in the shirts of Ansu have gone viral with many claiming that the jersey is not authentic and as a result, has dye stains from the red designs on the shirt.

In a brief chat with a die-heart supporter, Dayan Akonto which was monitored by GhanaSportspage.com, the former Berekum Chelsea man clarified that he sat in a Hibiscus juice, locally known as Sobolo during half-time, which stained his pants.

“When we went to the dressing room, we were drinking sobolo and some poured on the ground and I mistakenly sat in it. It’s not a dye stain from the jersey. Our jersey is not like that.”

In the game, Kotoko came from a goal down to win 3-1 to record back-to-back victories.

Mohammed Suleman scored an own goal before Steven Mukwala and Issac Oppong added one each to secure the vital away win.

The Porcupines have moved to 7th on the league log with 16 points, trailing the top spot by 5.
