Former Hearts of Oak manager, Martin Koopman, has stated that Hearts of Oak is no more a big club in Ghana.
He said the Phobians only hold high status on paper but currently they are not a top side in the League.
Speaking to the authoritative sports site, Ghanasportpage.com, he said the major challenge he faced as Hearts manager was not having balance in his team.
“They think they are the best club in Ghana. On paper yes, but that’s not true. We had a young team and no experience…Actually, we missed balance in our team. We had a very good defense, a very good midfield but we missed strikers and wingers.” He told Ghanasportspage.com
The Dutch gaffer said although that is the reality of the squad available, the board and supporters refused to understand.
“Every time I said that everybody was not happy but it was the truth. And it’s not easy to tell the truth against the board and against the fans but that was the reality at the moment for Hearts of Oak. “
Martin Koopman was in charge of the Phobians for three months. During the period he managed only two wins in ten matches.
