Aduana Stars stole all three points with a 67th minute goal from Brigh Adjei against Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, ending a two-match losing streak with a 1-0 win.
Having ended the first half goalless, an improved second-half performance saw Bright Agyei finding the back of the net with an amazing free-kick to ensure the home team amassed all 3 important points.
The game was bound to be exciting as Hearts made a fine start to the game, trying to keep possession and progress forward with a patient build-up but found it difficult to break down Aduana’s rigid defensive lines.
The Ogya Boys entered the game with two straight defeats against Karela United and Accra Lions.
The Rainbows, on the other hand, were held to draws in their last two league games and were knocked out from the FA Cup by Nania FC.
With this defeat, Hearts of Oak have now lost three away games this season. The result leaves them on the 9th position on the league log with 16 points. Aduana Stars are still leading with 24 points.
