Former Hearts of Oak manager, Martin Koopman has said that not even Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola can change the fortunes of the Rainbow side.
He claimed that the two highly-rated managers would not succeed with the current squad at Hearts of Oak.
He opined that a coach’s success hugely depends on his relationship with the team.
Speaking with ghanasportspage.com, he said although he had a good relationship with his players, the team lacked balance, which he claims has been evident under many coaches appointed by Hearts recently.
“Now it has happened to me. You can appoint Mourinho or Guardiola but they will not change the team. It’s about the relationship with the team. Martin told the authoritative Ghanaian website, ghanasportspage.com.
“I had a very good relationship with the team so sometimes harsh in talking about them but I must. A father can say anything to his son and they must listen and they listen. They play good football but we didn’t score and that was the problem.”
“In their last game, they lost on penalties in the Cup match. So all the things I talked about are coming out again. You can’t use four or five coaches in a year and they all have the same problem. The team doesn’t have balance and the fans must wake up,” he added.
Martin Koopman was in charge of the Phobians for three months. During the period he managed only two wins in ten matches.
