Medeama has been held to a stalemate by Young Africans at the Baba Yara Stadium in their third group stage fixture in the CAF Champions League on Friday, December 8, 2023.
Jonathan Sowah gave the home side the lead from the spot but Paçome Zouzoua pulled parity for the visitors as they earned a vital point on the road.
The Mauves and Yellows could not take full advantage of playing at home and now need to beat Yanga in the return encounter to better their chances of progressing from the group stage.
The Tarkwa-based side are now second in the group with 4 points sitting two points behind Al Ahly but tied with Belouizdad on the same points while Yanga sits bottom with two points.
Just like Medeama and Yanga, Ahly were also held to a goalless draw by Belouizdad, leaving the group open.
Medeama will travel to Tanzania to face Yanga for the fourth-round games on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
