Asante Kotoko IMC member, James kwasi Appiah has advised the fans of two big clubs in the Ghanaian top-flight ahead the of the upcoming clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Ghanaian heavyweights are set to electrify the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi this afternoon, promising fans a thrilling encounter as the two football giants face off in a bid for supremacy.
The veteran tatctian, who is the member of the current management of the Porcupine Warriors spoke to Ghanasportspage.com, with his side looking to steal the show today.
“We hope to see everybody because we are all going to play. Is not about fighting or any other thing but the most important thing is to see both teams playing a good game to make the supporters happy so that they can come and support them in their next games.
“For years back, during our time (in the 80’s) till now form does not count in Kotoko and Hearts of Oak games. Psychologically and mentally, the one who prepares well will carry the day,” he said.
The Reds are in good form, having won their last three games against Berekum Chelsea, Legon Cities, and Medeama SC. However, their defence has been a cause for concern, as they have conceded goals in four consecutive away matches. This could be an area that Hearts of Oak look to exploit.
In terms of current form, Hearts of Oak have won three of their 13 league matches this season, drawing seven and losing three. They have scored nine goals and conceded eight. Asante Kotoko, meanwhile, have won five of their 13 matches, drawing four and losing four. They have scored 12 goals and conceded 10.
Both teams have had mixed results in their recent matches, with Hearts of Oak winning once, losing once, and drawing four times in their last six games. Asante Kotoko have won three and lost three in their last six outings.
