Interim Management Committee (IMC) member of Asante Kotoko, James Kwasi Appiah stated that winning the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League would be a bonus for the club.
He explained that the Porcupines have entirely new squad with many young players, hence getting them along would time.
In an interview with ghanasportspage, he however admitted that winning the league would be significant for the team and thus urged head coach Prosper Ogum Narteh to pursue the challenge.

“I wish Kotoko could win the league but it depends on the strictness of the team now. Ogum started with an entirely new team and to get the players to play as a team takes time. The most important thing is to try and win the league, as Otumfour said. If he wins the league it’s a bonus but if he doesn’t, we have to exercise patience and give him some time.” Coach Kwasi Appiah told Ghanasportspage.com on Sunday.
Asante Kotoko sit 7th on the table but trail league leaders Aduana Stars who are 26 points by 4 points.
The Reds are in a sublime form winning their last five matches in all competition.
They closed the gap at the top after beating arch rivals Hearta of Oak 3-2 in the Super Clash on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
