Former Hearts of Oak manager, Martin Koopman has stated that some board members at the club hinder the club’s progress.
Without mentioning names, he advised the Executive board chairman and majority shareholder of the club Togbe Afede XIV to appoint people who are apt to the board.
He told ghanasportspage.com that he got to know about the incapabilities of some board members during his four-month stay at the club, stating that the club is battling two problems – squad imbalance and poor management.
“There are some people on the board that I think they cannot help him. You are President and you spend a lot of money on this but you cannot buy a team”, Koopman told ghanasportspage.com.
“You must have balance and around you, you must have people who can help you. You must trust them and whatever you say to them, they must also deliver. What I saw in those four months, they can’t help him”.
The Hearts of Oak board has been under huge criticism from the fans due to the club’s poor showing recently.
Martin Koopman fell out with the board during his after complaining about the players. During the period he managed only two wins in ten matches.
