Sundan head coach, James Kwasi Appiah is optimistic about qualifying the East Africans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, he admitted that his side is in a tough group.
However, he believes football has gone beyond big names and thus with the right preparations they can achieve their target.
“We are currently on four points. We will play Mauritania and South Sudan in our next games. So are tired with Senegal at the top. For me, I always believe who you are playing with doesn’t matter.
“Because football is developing so fast and if you think Senegal is bigger than anyone you might be lying…Once you prepare yourself well, you can archive whatever is ahead of you,” he said.
Sunday are tied with Senegal on 4 points each after a win and a draw in their opening two games in Group B.
They will face Mauritania and South Sudan in a consecutive away games in June 2024 as they battle to qualify for the World Cup for the first time ever.
