Hearts of Oak Congolese midfielder, Glid Otanga has admitted that the unhappiness of the fans also affects players due to the failure on their part to win games.
Hearts of Oak have just won three games out of 16 matches so far this season. 9 games have ended in stalement while they have lost 4 games. They are currently 11th on the Ghana Premier League table with 18 points after 16 games.
The performance and the results so far have not made supporters of the club happy so far. Glid Otanga who has featured in 13 of the games says the playing body is aware they need to improve and he also believes it is bad luck.
“Seriously I don’t know what to say. We try our best when we play. We create the chances but we can’t score. I think we don’t have luck.” He spoke exclusively to ghanasportspage.com
The last time the team won a game was against Accra Lions on 21st November 2023. He revealed that he understands the pain of the fans and assured them of grinding out the results in the upcoming games.
“It is normal if the fans are not happy with us because if you play for a team as big as Hearts of Oak, you need to win the game for them. When we don’t win, it is bad for them and the team. If they are not happy, we also don’t have a good rest. We have no excuse” He added.
Hearts of Oak’s next game is against Bechem United and they will be willing to get back to winning ways.
