In a commanding performance, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club ascended to the second position in the Ghana Premier League standings after a resounding triumph against Bofoakwa Tano. Coach Ogum’s squad displayed their prowess on the field, leaving the hosts struggling to keep pace.
The Porcupine Warriors needed brace from in-form Mukwala to beat the Sunyani-based club at the Coronation Park on Saturday to wrap the year.
Bofoakwa Tano went behind after 21 minutes through the Ugandan international after receiving a long pass from Mohammed Sheriff.
The hosts offered almost nothing going forward in the opening period, but came agonisingly close to levelling early in the second half but Asare stepped in with an excellent save to tip the ball out for a corner.
Mukwala did come out with more intensity, and added another goal make it two for Kotoko during the 80th minute.
From this moment the game was all but dead, with Kotoko dominating until the final whistle blew.
