Asante Kotoko captain, Richmond Lamptey has assured Ghanaians of giving his best during the African Cup of Nations tourament in Ivory Coast.
Richmond Lamptey was included in the final squad by coach Chris Hughton for the tournament. This is Lamptey’s maiden call up to the Black Stars and will feature will make his debut in the AFCON for the first time.
Speaking for the first time after his call-up, the former Inter Allies player says he will not disappoint fans for his inclusion into the squad.
“I’m not going to disappoint them. I really thank them and they should keep on supporting me. I think I have really worked hard to deserve this call up.” He told Asante Kotoko media.
Ghana is set to open their group stage campaign against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, 2024 – that is in 13 days then play against Egypt in their second group match before wrapping up the group face against Mozambique on January 22.
