Black Stars player, Mohammed Kudus will join his teammates later in camp due to an injury he is nursing according Ghana gaffer Chris Hughton.
West Ham’s new man will feature in his first ever African Cup of Nation tournament after he was named in Ghana’s 27 man-list for the tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast in a few days.
Unlike Thomas Partey who will not be in squad due to his injury, the 23-year-old will join his teammates later. Hughton describes Kudus’ injury as slight and he is hopeful of returning to the squad.
“We are expecting [Mohammed Kudus] to join the group hopefully in a few days. He has a very slight injury issue that needs to be dealt with before he joins camp but we’re hopeful,” Hughton told the press.
Kudus is on red-hot form for the Hammers in the English Premier League and has scored 10 goals so far in all competitions for West Ham. He missed the last edition of the AFCON in Cameroon due to injury though he was named in the squad. Ghanaians are hoping he will replicate his West Ham performances when he puts on the Ghana shirt in Ivory Coast.
