Former Black Stars player Samuel Inkoom says the leaders of the country need to do better in terms of sporting facilities in the country.
His comments is based on Black Stars’ camping in Ghana ahead of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. The team started camping at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese on 3rd January 2024. According to media reports, the technical team and players of Black Stars are not happy with the training facilities and conditions.
In view of this, the former right back who featured in the 2010 AFCON for Ghana says our leaders need to up their game in terms of building proper sports facilities.
“I think it is not about me stepping on somebody’s toes. At the end of the day we want the best for the country in terms of football. I think by now we should have proper facilities for the national teams. We have to change our mentality and how we think. If we have proper facilities other teams and countries will come and camp in Ghana.” He told GH One TV.
He pleaded with those in the helm of affairs to build more sport infrastructures to enhance the performance of Ghanaian sportsmen and women.
“I’m pleading and telling the leaders to do something better for us so that the upcoming kids will have a better future.”
Ghana will leave their camping base in Kumasi for Ivory Coast on Wednesday 10th January 2024.
