Ghana Black Stars Head Coach, Chris Hughton says Ghana will start the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a win.
Ghana will lock horns with the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde today, 14th January 2024 at the Felix Houphouet Boigny stadium in Ivory Coast for the first round of matches in Group B.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Chris Hughton says all the countries in this year’s AFCON are good but he is optimistic of a win in their first game of the tournament.
“There is not one bad team in this tournament. Our approach to every game is the same. We would like to begin on a winning note.” He said.
Skipper for Ghana, Andre Ayew also says his team would need to learn from their previous mistakes ahead of the game tonight.
“It is a huge tournament for the team the last tournament was very difficult. There were a lot of things that happened that made it go that way. We need to learn from it so we ensure things on or off the pitch don’t happen again. It is my 8th Afcon but the ambition always has been to win the trophy.” He said.
The time for the game is 8PM (GMT)
