There was chaos at the Black Stars team hotel as some fans from the Ghana Supporters Union attacked some players and head coach Chris Hughton after the defeat against Cape Verde.
In a video that surfaced online, one fan was captioned talking about attacking Hughton for how he managed the game.
In another video, the unnamed man was spotted in the middle of chaos with players involved as Daniel Amartey and Kudus Mohammed trying to calm the situation.
According to the report, the unnamed man is in police custody following the attack.
The Black Stars kicked off their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a disappointing defeat to Cape Verde in a Group B encounter.
Ghana , who had a shambolic display, suffered a 2-1 loss to Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny to go bottom of the group.
Jamiro Monteiro gave Cape Verde a first-half lead in the 17th minute after scoring from a rebound. Alexander Djiku pulled parity for Ghana in the second half before Garry Rodriguez scored a 90th-minute winner to hand, Cape Verde, all the maximum points.
Following the defeat, Ghana is now bottom of the group and will face Egypt in the second game of the tournament.
