Black Stars talisman, Mohammed Kudus, has stated that the team have set eyes on winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
He therefore indicated that qualifying from the group is the most important step to achieving what is their ultimate goal.
“Our ultimate goal is to lift the trophy, but the first step is getting out of the group,” Kudus emphasized.
The West Ham player also remarked that the team cannot only focus on the trophy but need to approach each game one at a time.
“We’ll take it one game at a time. We came here to win the trophy, so we can’t look too far ahead,” he said.
The Black Stars face yet another group stage exit and will need a win against Mozambique to progress to the round of 16.
A win could put them at second place or third place depending on the results from Cape Verde and Egypt game.
If they finish thirds place, they could qualify as one of the best four third place teams.
Ghana have a point after two games with Cape Verde leading the group with 6 points, followed by Egypt with 2. Mozambique are at the bottom with 1 point.
