The initial period of the game witnessed varying outcomes, including Angolan goalkeeper Neblu being shown a red card in the 17th minute.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Angola persistently pressured their Namibian counterparts and were eventually rewarded when Gelson Dala opened the scoring after 38 minutes of play.

In the 40th minute, Namibia were dealt with a blow when Lubeni Haukongo received his second yellow card and went for an early shower. Just two minutes later, Gelson extended the lead, allowing Angola to enter the halftime break with a comfortable two-goal advantage.

In the second half, Angola continued their dominance, adding a third goal after the half-hour mark with Mabululu’s well-taken strike, which led to their progress to the quarter-final round.

Angola have qualified for the quarter-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF AFCON for the first time in 14 years.

Angola have won a TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations game by a three-goal margin for the first time in their history.

Angola have won their first ever knockout stage game at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations. They’ll progress to the quarter finals for the third time in their history after 2008 and 2010 (no last 16 round in these editions).

Angola will face either Nigeria or Cameroon in the quarter-final round. While, Namibia will return home proud of their achievements, as they made history progressing past the group stage round.
