Abdul Fatawu Safiu has angrily reacted to Kotoko’s decision to terminate his contract after three weeks.
Despite initially signing a two-year deal, Safiu’s return to the team has been cut short, denying him the opportunity to showcase his skills on the pitch.
The attacker, who previously clinched the titles of best player and top scorer in the NC’s special tournament back in 2019, rejoined Asante Kotoko just last month following spells with Trelleborgs FF and FC Trollhättan in Sweden.
According to the 29-year-old attacker, he has been treated unfairly by the GPL giants.
“I have been treated like I never served Kotoko before. We should have settled this in peace. No one will be with the club forever. Even Herbert Mensah is gone. You have to know how to deal with a player who has served the club before,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
Safiu added: “I came to play my heart out again but what the club has done to me is not fair. They have published a story claiming that I am injured meanwhile is not true.
Do you want to destroy my career? Why did you unveil me if I failed my medical test? It doesn’t make sense. Why did you make interviews and put them on your YouTube channel for people to watch so that you can get money, how? Which club will do this and how can a player be unveiled after failing his medical test?
“My family is going through a lot of pain. I have served the club before, and I have put smiles on their faces before. What have I done?
