Former Black Stars defender, Rahim Ayew has advised ex-U20 AFCON winner Danlad Ibrahim to stay with Asante Kotoko. The Abedi Pele’s son believes the young Ghanaian goalkeeper can win back his first-team spot.
It is no secret that Danlad is not in the plans of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum in the current campaign, having struggled to make a name for himself after the World Cup in Qatar. He has lost his place to Frederick Asare, and the former Accra Lions goalkeeper has remained the first choice at the club.
Danlad has a contract with Asante that expires at the end of the ongoing season and has been rumoured to be considering leaving the Reds, possibly requesting a transfer to secure his spot.
However, Rahim Ayew, who made seven appearances for the Black Stars, advises him to be patient and believes he will have another opportunity to reclaim his place in the team during a tiktok live.
“These are some of the keepers a lot of people wants. He is not scared. I will tell you that don’t be in a hurry to leave. You are in Kotoko and they are paying you well. You know Kotoko fans too. They can even reward you with a car, a land or a huge money one day.
“I haven’t said you stay in Kotoko forever but what I mean is he should get his spot back. I know he can carry Kotoko himself to where they want to be because he could be the captain or can captain the team when given the chance.
