Bismark Kobi-Mensah, who has reportedly been sacked by Bechem United, has a dispute with the club’s board as the reason for his sacking.
In an interview with GhanaSportspage.com, the former Karela United coach said he is not on good terms with the board after demanding his unpaid salary and bonuses.
He noted that he has not been with the team since week 14, after guiding them to a win over Accra Lions.
“I’ve not been with the club since week 14 after we beat Accra Lions. We were preparing for our next game against the Aduana Stars, and we complained about unpaid bonuses. We had gone 10 games unbeaten and were fifth,” he said.
He explained that the players had their arrears cleared while the technical team were ignored, and that triggered his dispute with the club president, Kingsley Owusu Achiaw, commonly known as ‘Agama’.
“They cleared the players’ bonuses in three straight separate payments without giving the coaches a penny. When we went to ask President Agama why we had not been paid, he said,’Even Kotoko and Hearts are in debt.’ Then I said ‘This is not right and unacceptable.’
“They gave me an indefinite suspension, so I’ve not been with the team from that time. I’ve summoned them to the ethics committee, and that’s why they’ve told bloggers that I have been sacked.”
Meanwhile, reports indicate that former Great Olympics manager Annor Walaker could replace Kobi-Mensah.
