The National Sports Authority (NSA) an agency under the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Ghana, as part of its management’s vision “to increase productivity, job enrichment and enhanced provision of services to our clients, stakeholders and the general public” has appointed Mr. Kwame Baa Mensa as Ag. Ashanti Regional Director of Sports and moved several other staff members to various Directorates of the Authority’’ a letter cited by our reporters and signed by the Deputy Director General (Administration) Alhaji Abdul-Majeed Bawa on 29th February 2024 partly reads.
Mr. Kwame Baa Mensa before his appointment was a Senior Management member and Head of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Head Office in Accra and also the Authority’s focal person on the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ). He has rich experience in Sports Administration, Development and Promotion and has overseen several National and International sporting events and activities over the years at the Authority.
Mr. Kwame Baa Mensa has a Master’s Degree in Local Governance Administration and Organization from the Institute of Local Government Studies Accra, a Bachelor of Arts Degree Honours in French from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria, a certificate in the Organization of Major Sports Events and Facility Management from the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), Ministry of Commerce, Beijing –China.
He also possesses an Executive Certificate in Security Intelligence and Forensics Studies from the Knutsford University College Accra and An International Executive Diploma in Disaster Management from La Plage Meta Verse, Abuja- Nigeria.
He has over 20 years working across community service, media/communication, not-for-profit organizations, sustainable development goals, sports development and local governance.
Mr. Kwame Baa Mensa is a team player and has strong interpersonal and organizational skills and analytical /Communication skills.
His hobbies are reading, listening to good music and travelling.
