Second-half goals from Salim Adams and Linda Mtange rescued 10-man Hearts of Oak as they fought back to win 2-1 against Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League on Monday after defender Denis Korsah was sent off.
The Rainbows have a maximum of 32 points while the Heart of Lions, with 21 points, continued their poor run in the ongoing campaign.
Mustapha Yakubu headed the Lions into the lead at Baba Yara Sports Stadium during the 45th minute before halftime.
But Hearts of Oak was unshaken by the setback and continued to build pressure, which paid off in the second half.
Salim Adams equalised with a brilliant dipping header from Martin Karikari’s freekick before Linda Mtange’s 64th-minute strike, making it 2-1 for the Phobians.
In truth, the hosts dominated and found a way to win the game with patience, perseverance and bloody-mindedness.
They are now unbeaten in the second round of the season with three wins and two draws. Hearts sit seventh on the league log, level on point with their sworn rivals, Asante Kotoko who lost 2-1 to Aduana Stars on Sunday.
