Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has lauded Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare for his outstanding qualities.
According to Otto Addo, he is impressed by the level the Kotoko goalie has shown so far in camp.
He underlined Frederick Asare’s ball technique as the most significant quality he has noticed in training.
“Frederick is new and young. I think he made a good first impression. He is very, very calm on the ball and has a good technique in the goal,” he told the GFA media.
Frederick Asare earned a debut call-up for Ghana’s games against Nigeria and Uganda.
He was an unused substitute in the Black Stars 2-1 defeat to Nigeria on Friday.
Regarding who starts in goal for the second game, Otto Addo disclosed that Joseph Wollacott is in line to start.
“Joseph Wollacott at the moment is not playing in his club so it’s difficult to say that he will be the number one at the moment but I think tomorrow I will give him the chance to play and to show himself and we will keep on watching them and observing them and we will decide in June who will be the goalkeeper who will stand in the goal.”
Ghana will face Uganda to wrap up their friendly games in the international break.
The match is set to come off today, March 26, 2024, at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.
