Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee member, Emmanuel Dasoberi, has confirmed that the club’s marksman Steven Mukwala has declined Kotoko’s contract extension offer.
Speaking with ghanasportspage, he mentioned that the Ugandan has decided to leave at the end of his contract.
Dasoberi further assured that the IMC will replace Mukwala with a reputable replacement.
” Mukwala is not ready to extend his contract with us, but no problem because we’re going to replace him with a good striker.”
Steven Mukwala joined Asante Kotoko in August 2022, replacing Cameroonian striker Franck Mbella Etouga.
He penned a two-year deal joining the Porcupine Warriors on a free transfer.
In his first season, the former Ugandan Premier League top scorer scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 33 games in all competitions.
