Salifu Ibrahim looks increasingly likely to move on from Accra Hearts of Oak at the end of the ongoing campaign.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been constantly linked with a move away from the Accra giants.
Salifu has been with the Phobians since 2021, having joined from former GPL side Eleven Wonders.
The 23-year-old currently has two months left on his contract and has already attracted interest from several clubs due to his swashbuckling performance.
In an interview with Kumasi FM, Benedict Asiedu dis that Salifu is ready to extend his contract with the Phobians if they do the needful.
“Talks about renewing his contract began quite a long time ago with Alhaji Akambi but we stopped following the change of management. I don’t know whether they are looking for new alternative.
“The player is working but you let the contract expire if you don’t like him. Don’t blame me if Salifu doesn’t renew his contract with Hearts of Oak. I can’t take him away as free agent. We are still waiting for them but I won’t extend the contract if they wait for it to expire,” he said.
The midfield dynamo has been impressive for Hearts of Oak since his arrival despite injuries, having emerged as the best player of the 2020/21 GPL season.
Considering his skill set, there would be no shortage of suitors if Hearts of Oak do not or cannot extend his contract beyond June.
