Asante Kotoko records worst-ever season performance in 89 years after Dreams FC setback

Asante Kotoko’s woes deepened as they endured a historic defeat against Dreams FC at the Theater of Dreams in Dawu, marking their worst performance in a single Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered a disheartening 2-0 loss to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finalist in the Week 26 clash of the 2023/24 season.

This defeat signifies the club’s 11th loss of the season, surpassing their previous record for most losses in a single campaign since their establishment in 1935.

Prior to this season, Asante Kotoko’s worst record was in the years 2000 and 2006 when the club suffered 10 defeats each, culminating in 5th and 3rd place finishes, respectively.

With this latest setback, Asante Kotoko finds themselves languishing in 11th place in the Ghana Premier League standings, with just 8 games remaining in the season.
