Record holders of the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club suffered a 2-0 defeat to CAF Confederation Cup semi finalist, Dreams FC on Sunday, extending their winless streak in the Ghanaian top-flight to seven.
Coach Prosper Ogum’s side wasted a lively performance as they paid the price for sloppy defending and wasteful finishing at the Theatre of Dreams.
The hosts return to winning ways after falling to Berekum Chelsea on week 25 as goals from Simba Sylvester and Attah Agyei consigned Asante Kotoko to another defeat.

FC SAMARTEX 3 – 2 BEREKUM CHELSEA
Elsewhere, leaders Samartex extended their unbeaten run to six after beating Berekum Chelsea at home.
Coach Nurudeen Amadu’s side were 3-2 winners with the goals coming from Evans Owusu and Baba Hamadu Musah.
GREAT OLYMPICS 1 – 1 NSOATREMAN FC
Great Olympics, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Bechem United in their previous game failed to claim the maximum points over Nsoatreman FC. They played out another 1-1 draw with Maxwell Konadu’s side at the Nana Konamansa Park.
Collins Cudjoe scored late to cancel Emmanuel Akesseh’s first half goal.
MEDEAMA SC 1 – 0 LEGON CITIES
In Tarkwa, Kamaradini Mamudu scored the only goal as Medeama SC triumphed 1-0 against Legon Cities.
The defending champions now sit fourth on the league log with 39 points after picking their second consecutive win at home.
NATIONS FC 2 – 2 BOFOAKWA TANO
However, Nations FC also extended their unbeaten run at home after playing out a 2-2 draw with struggling Bofoakwa Tano.
Bofoakwa Tano opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Charles Mensah before Barimah Baah scored to restore parity in the 46th minute.
Bofoakwa Tano were back on the scoreboard after Emmanuel Boateng’s 81st minute strike but the the game ended 2-2 with the fourth goal coming from Nation FC’s Prince Acquah.
BECHEM UNITED 3 – 2 RTU
In Bechem, Dari Aziz Haruna, Francis Acquah and Cephas Kofi Mantey combine to Bechem United a 3-2 comeback win over RTU at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Coach Osei Wires side are fifth on the league table with 38 points from 25 matches.
ADUANA STARS 1 – 0 HEART OF LIONS
In Dormaa, Aduana Stars narrowly defeated Heart of Lions to keep their hopes of winning the GPL title alive after Wednesday’s painful defeat to Bofoakwa Tano.
Alex Boakye’s late strike was the difference as the hosts return to winning ways.
The game between Accra Lions and Gold Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium comes off on Monday.
