Some angry Asante Kotoko supporters have stormed the club’s training ground at Adako Jachie in an attempt to stop head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his players from training this afternoon.
The Porcupines are preparing to face league leaders, FC Samartex at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League match day 27.
Coach Ogum has come under an immense pressure due to the team’s poor run of form in the ongoing season.
Asante Kotoko has lost seven of their last nine games since the start of the second round of the Ghana Premier League and are currently occupying the 11th position which is the worst-ever run in the club’s history.
The supporters have vowed to chase the coach out of the club following the team’s poor performances and run of form.
According to the fans who conveyed at the training grounds to take this action, Ogum, together with his technical men should leave the club before the worst happens. Fortunately, Ogum was not present at training this afternoon.
The irate fans were addressed by the head of the IMC, Nana Appiah Apinkra to calm their nerves but they insisted the team should not train. However, the players left without training this afternoon.
The club is yet to issue a communique on the incident.
