The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA has fined Nzema Kotoko and deducted 6 points after being found guilty of fielding an unqualified player against King Faisal,
According to the FA DC, Nzema Kotoko player Augustine Ofori’s registration had expired before they played against King Faisal on matchday 15 Division One game played at the Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli Arena.
According to decision and ruling by the DC, Nzema Kotoko are declared losers of that game and thus lose three points while King Faisal are credited with three points and three goals.
King Faisal lost the game at the AAK Arena 1-0 in Ampain but lodged a protest questioning the eligibility of the player, Augustine Ofori.
In accordance with Articles 34 (a-g) of the GFA Division One League Regulations, For the above reasons the committee after a critical evaluation of the evidence has decided as follows:
That when Nzema Kotoko played in the Access Bank Division One League on 3rd March 2024 in Ampain player Augustine Ofori registration had expired.
That the (player) was thus unqualified to play in the said match.
That in accordance with Article 34 (1) Nzema Kotoko have therefore committed an offence punishable by forfeiture of the match.
That in accordance with Article 34 (2) Nzema Kotoko declared losers of the match played on 3rd March 2024 and accordingly 3 points and 3 goals are awarded to King Faisal.
Furthermore in accordance with Article 34 (5) (a) Nzema Kotoko shall lose 3 points from its accumulated points.
Nzema Kotoko have the opportunity to appeal the decision, however, as it stands the Red Armies have dropped to the relegation zone (14th position) with 25 points whiles King Faisal move two places up to the 10th position with 30 points after 22 games in Division One League Zone Two pending Ghana FA’s official statement.
