Hearts of Oak’s standout midfielder, Salifu Ibrahim, has emerged as a target for defending Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC, following his exceptional performances for the Phobians.
Salifu, who made the switch to Hearts of Oak from Eleven Wonders in February 2021, has established himself as a key figure for the Accra-based club since his arrival. With his current contract set to expire at the season’s end, several clubs have shown keen interest in acquiring his services.
According to Owusu Ansah of Kumasi FM, despite Hearts of Oak’s attempts to retain Salifu by offering an improved monthly salary, reports suggest that the 23-year-old midfielder is contemplating a departure once his contract lapses.
Medeama SC has reportedly entered the race to secure Salifu’s signature for the upcoming 2024/25 season. The Yellow and Mauve outfit has allegedly tabled an enticing monthly salary offer as they seek to entice the talented midfielder to join their ranks.
While other clubs, including Nations FC and Asante Kotoko, have also shown interest, sources indicate that Medeama SC is currently leading the pursuit for Salifu if he opts to continue his career in Ghana.
Throughout the ongoing campaign, Salifu has played a pivotal role for Hearts of Oak, contributing two goals and nine assists in 27 appearances this season.
As negotiations and speculations regarding his future intensify, all eyes will be on Ibrahim Salifu as he navigates his next career move in Ghanaian football.
