Isaac Obeng, the Public Relations Officer of Berekum Chelsea, disclosed that their head coach, Samuel Boadu, is determined to retaliate against his former team, Hearts of Oak, in an upcoming clash on Wednesday.
The showdown between the “Bibires” and the Phobians is set to take place at the Golden City Park during matchweek 29 of the Ghana Premier League.
Having been dismissed by Hearts of Oak two seasons ago due to a dismal start to their campaign, Boadu is adamant about seeking vengeance against his previous employers.
“It’s a revenge game for Samuel Boadu against Hearts of Oak on Wednesday. He has personally promised the guys (Berekum Chelsea players) that if they win, he has a special bonus for them,” Obeng revealed during an interview with Nhyira FM in Kumasi.
During his tenure with the Phobians, Boadu experienced both on-field success and managerial accolades, securing five trophies in under two years. Notable among these achievements were the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League title, the FA Cup triumphs in 2021 and 2021, as well as victories in the Ghana Super Cup and the President’s Cup.
In contrast, Hearts of Oak, having won just one of their last six matches, currently languish in 13th place, trailing Berekum Chelsea, who occupy the 8th position with 41 points.
