Hearts of Oak have received a much-needed morale boost with the return of resilient defender Kelvin Osei Asibey, who has overcome a prolonged injury setback just in time for their crucial clash against Aduana Stars.
Having endured an injury-induced hiatus that disrupted his promising debut season, the former Eleven Wonders center-back is back in contention. Asibey, a pivotal figure since joining Hearts of Oak, has already notched up 14 appearances in the Ghana Premier League.
Under the guidance of the Phobians’ physical trainer, Jordan Enoch Daitey, the 23-year-old has commenced rehabilitation training, signaling his imminent return to the pitch.
His comeback is timely as Hearts of Oak gear up to face Aduana Stars in a high-stakes encounter scheduled for Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
While the decision rests with head coach Aboubakar Ouattara regarding Asibey’s involvement in the forthcoming match, his availability provides a significant boost to the squad’s aspirations for a strong finish in the Premier League.
With just five games left in the season, Hearts of Oak currently occupy the eleventh spot on the league standings, aiming to climb higher with Asibey’s return to bolster their defensive line.
