Chaos reigns at Hearts of Oak as midfielder Salim Adams refutes the club’s announcement of his sale to Sudanese side Al Hilal.
On Wednesday, May 24th, Hearts of Oak declared they had reached an agreement with Al Hilal for Adams’s transfer, pending his acceptance of personal terms with the Sudanese team.
“Accra Hearts of Oak is thrilled to officially announce that it has agreed to release Salim Adams to Al-Hilal Omdurman on a permanent transfer deal. The transfer would be signed and sealed subject to the player agreeing on personal terms with the Sudanese club,” read the club’s statement.
Contradicting this, Adams, previously with New Edubiase United, took to Facebook to dismiss the claim, asserting the club cannot announce a transfer without his consent. He simply wrote, “Not true.”
The 21-year-old’s contract with the Phobians ends at the end of the current season.
Adams rejoined Hearts of Oak for the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League after his loan at FC Cincinnati 2. This season, he has netted two goals and provided one assist in 12 matches for Hearts of Oak.
