GPL Match Report: Goldstars triumph Over Dreams FC in Bibiani
Bibiani Goldstars capitalized on their home advantage to defeat CAF Confederation Cup semifinalists Dreams FC at Duns Park on Sunday.
In a highly competitive matchday 31 clash of the Ghana Premier League, Goldstars emerged victorious with a 2-1 win. The first half ended in a goalless draw, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock.
Goldstars opened the scoring just one minute into the second half through Alex Aso. Emmanuel Appau then doubled their lead in the 54th minute. Although Dreams FC managed to score a consolation goal in injury time through Joseph Esso, it was too late to alter the outcome.
The victory lifted Goldstars to 10th place with 43 points from 31 matches, while Dreams FC, battling relegation, dropped to 14th with 38 points. Despite the setback, Dreams FC still have two outstanding games and five matches left in the season to improve their standing.
