German-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Kohn is set to receive a debut call-up to the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of their key FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.
Reports gathered by Ghanasportspage indicate Kohn is among the players considered by Coach Otto Addo for Ghana’s crucial fixtures.
The 25-year-old left-back has had a remarkable season with Galatasaray, helping them to win the Turkish Premier League after displaying a masterclass performance in defence.
Capped by Germany at the youth level, the defender is now considering switching his allegiance to Ghana as a result since he is qualified to make up the Black Stars through his parents.
Kohn joined Galatasaray in February 2024 after parting ways with Hannover 96. He penned down a contract that will keep him until 2026.
He was featured in 13 league games, scoring one goal against providing one assist.
