Three Asante Kotoko players make Ghana Premier League Team-of-the-Week for matchday 31

Asante Kotoko stars Justice Blay, Enock Morrison, and Steven Mukwala have been named in Laryea Kingston’s Team of the Week for Matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League after a stellar performance against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Justice Blay excelled in a three-back system for Asante Kotoko, helping secure a clean sheet against their arch-rivals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The former Medeama SC and Sekondi Hasaacas player has rediscovered his form following a knee injury that sidelined him for about three months.

Former King Faisal midfielder Enock Morrison, now operating in a deep-lying midfield role, was sensational in the heart of the pitch for the Porcupine Warriors. His near-perfect display ensured Asante Kotoko walked away with the points. Another key performer for the Warriors, Steven Mukwala, scored a brace to take his season tally to 14 goals.

Also in the Team of the Week are Bibiani Gold Stars’ Alex Aso, Yussif Chibsah of Aduana FC, Shawkan Mohammed of Accra Lions, and the evergreen Gladson Awako, who masterminded Accra Great Olympics’ 3-2 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Accra Lions’ shot-stopper Andrews Owusu was named Goalkeeper of the Week. Fatawu Sulemana (Medeama SC), Ebenezer Abban (Heart of Lions), and Rasheed Alhassan complete the list of players in the Team of the Week for Matchday 31.
