Ghana’s national team coach, Otto Addo, pledges to closely monitor the Ghana Premier League as he unveils his squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
As he prepares for the upcoming matches, Addo emphasizes his commitment to identifying talent from the local league, highlighting the inclusion of Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare in the squad.
Addo asserts that he will personally attend matches across various stadiums to scout potential players, emphasizing that talent knows no boundaries.
“I will watch the Ghana Premier League closer and live, not videos, but I will be going to the various stadia,” he said.
“I will try to help as much as I can and I will watch closer because if a player is good, he is good and it doesn’t care where he is coming from or where he plays.”
“If I like a player, I will take him, and I will look close to find players from the local league,” he added.
The Black Stars are set to commence training at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, gearing up for their upcoming fixtures against Mali and Central African Republic.
