Latest transfer news coming from the United Kingdom has it that Jordan Ayew’s Crystal Palace are in talks with Sunderland over a deal to sign Jobe Bellingham.
The 18-year-old midfielder, the brother of Real Madrid and England star Jude, is thought to be one of Oliver Glasner’s leading transfer targets this summer and could play with the Ghanaian winger.
Bellingham, who joined the Black Cats from Birmingham last year, scored seven goals in 45 Championship appearances during a difficult season for the Wearside club.
Palace have frequently shopped in the EFL market over the years and have managed to keep sporting director Dougie Freedman at the club despite interest from Newcastle.
Freedman is seen an integral to the signings of Adam Wharton, Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi and Michael Olise, all of whom were plucked from the Championship.
Bellingham would fit that profile and despite only having signed a long-term contract at the Stadium of Light last year, he could again be on the move as Palace’s summer plans start to take shape.
Bellingham kicked off his senior career with Birmingham in 2021 and went on to make 26 first team appearances before joining Sunderland last summer.
The youngster has also been capped five times by England’s Under-19s.
