Sudan maintained their lead in Group B with an emphatic win over South Sudan in the ongoing FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Kwasi Appiah’s side broke the deadlock just before half-time courtesy Waliedin Khedr. And they deservedly led 1-0 at half-time.
Although the host side tried to bounce back into the battle in the second half as they showed more intensity, unlike their momentum in the first half but Sudan handled the pressure calmly and went on to score two more goals to secure a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Yasser Muazammil and Mohammed Yagoub.
The Falcons of Jediane side are now on 10 points, 2 clear of second-placed Senegal who defeated Mauritania 1-0 on Sunday.
DR. Congo are third with 7 points, having also played four games – 1 point behind Senegal.
