Relegated Real Tamale United have been charged with by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association with a breach of Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 following their game against Dreams FC on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
This development comes after RTU used unregistered players to face Dreams FC, while the first-team players boycotted the match in protest of unpaid salaries and entitlements.
In a bizarre twist, the team sheet included names of first-team players who did not travel with the team to Dawu, raising suspicions of impersonation.
This breach of regulations has sparked outrage, and the Ghana Football Association has taken a swift action against RTU.
The use of unregistered players and the alleged impersonation is a clear violation of the league’s rules, and RTU’s actions have brought the game into disrepute, according to the FA.
RTU have until Friday, 14 June 2024 to respond to the charges.
