FC Samartex 1996 have been crowned as Ghana Premier League champions after receiving the trophy at the Coronation which was held at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi.
The Timber Giants finished top of league log after amassing 61 points at the end of the season.
The trophy was handed over to Samartex by the leaders from the Ghana Football Association the Premier League Management Committee on Saturday after beating Accra Lions 2-0.
Coach Nurudeen Amadu’s side wrapped up the title two weeks ago with a 1-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars but had to be crowned champions in front of their fans in the game against Accra Lions.
Emmanuel Mamah broke the deadlock in the opening three minutes during the first half before Ebenezer Ocran added a second half double to complete the mauling.
Samartex will represent the country in the CAF Champions League next season.
