In a strategic move to bolster their squad, Asante Kotoko is currently in advanced negotiations to secure the services of Togolese defender Youssifou Atté.
Following a disappointing 2023/24 season, the Porcupines have been actively rebuilding their team, parting ways with 18 first-team players and focusing on new signings to strengthen their lineup.
Atté, who recently concluded his contract with TP Mazembe after two successful seasons, has emerged as a prime target for Kotoko. The club is eager to finalize the deal in the coming weeks, as reported by former Kotoko PRO, Obed Acheampong on Porcupine Stand.
The 28-year-old defender, who previously played for WAFA and Legon Cities, earned a call-up to the Togolese national team in March 2020 under coach Claude le Roy.
He has since made 12 appearances for the Sparrowhawks, showcasing his talent and versatility on the field. With Atté’s experience and skill set, Asante Kotoko is hopeful that his addition to the team will bring strength and stability to their defense in the upcoming season.
