Bofoakwa Tano captain Saaka Dauda has revealed that Asante Kotoko SC have made an approach to sign him ahead of the new season, and negotiations are reportedly advanced with a deal expected to be concluded soon.
The 24-year-old winger has been a standout performer for Bofoakwa Tano in the Ghana Premier League, scoring eight goals in 32 appearances despite his team’s relegation and failure to win the MTN FA Cup.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Dauda expressed his admiration for Kotoko, stating that playing for the Ghanaian giants would be a “gratifying” experience.
“Yes, as of now, I have spoken with no one from Hearts but have received calls from Asante Kotoko. Kotoko is a big team, so I would really love to play for them,” he told Akoma FM in an interview.
The forward has two years left on his contract with Bofoakwa Tano, and any potential transfer would require an agreement between Kotoko and his current club.
“However, I still have two years left on my contract, so Kotoko and Bofoakwa will need to come to an agreement before I can join”
However, Dauda seems keen on the move, saying that he would be grateful to God if it were to happen.
“Looking at the players, board, and owner, it is clear that this is a great team, and if the deal is completed, I will be grateful to God for providing me with such a big platform.”
