Out-of-contract forward Prince Kwabena Owusu, a sought-after talent in Ghana’s local football scene, has officially announced his upcoming transfer to powerhouse club Asante Kotoko.
Following the conclusion of his contract with Bibiani Goldstars, Owusu is poised to depart the club and join Asante Kotoko in the current transfer window.
In an interview with Akoma FM, the talented striker revealed that he is in advanced discussions with Kotoko and is optimistic about the potential move.
“Yes, I have received calls, and the majority of them are from Asante Kotoko. We are far along in the conversation, and I am hoping it will go well”
Expressing his commitment to giving his all for the team, Owusu addressed concerns about player turnover at Kotoko, emphasizing his versatility as a forward who can operate from various position on the field.
“The number of players leaving after a year with Kotoko does not concern me, I am there to work and will give my all, just as I did with Gold Stars”
Drawing inspiration from his role model Samuel Eto’o, Owusu aims to make an impact in the opponent’s box with his attacking prowess.
“I am a striker who can play from both wings as well as the main striker, so they will see me more around the opponent’s box, similar to how Samuel Eto’o (my role model) used to play. I only seek strength to perform my duties”
With 9 goals and 2 assists in 29 appearances during the recent Ghana Premier League season, the 26-year-old forward looks forward to contributing to Asante Kotoko’s success and calls for fans’ support through prayers as he embarks on this new chapter in his career.
“I asked the fans to support us with prayers, and when I arrive at Kotoko, with God everything will be fine”
