Former Dreams FC defender Abbey Agbodzie has left his doors opened for a possible nationality switch to play for Moldova.
The FC Balti player in an exclusive interview with Accra-based Mothers FM stated that he would be ready to switch allegiance to play for the “Tricolours” if given the platform.
“I think I will go if Moldova comes because I feel like I don’t have the chance to play for the Black Stars currently. Some players who play for the national team are luckily enough to come from the local league. If you are not playing in the local league you have to play in a very tough league in Europe and Moldova is not part of the top leagues.
“I don’t have the chance to play for the Black Stars. If another team comes and give me the platform, why not. I am also putting my interest first but not because I don’t want to play for the Black Stars,” said the 24-year-old defender.
Agbodzie started his career with Ghana Premier League side Dreams before moving to SK Skenderbeu in Albania.
The 24-year-old currently plies his trade in the Moldovan League with FC Balti. He joined the Super Liga side in September 2023.
