Asante Kotoko central defender, Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed, has failed to report to the team’s training base at Adako Jachie since the team resumed training last Friday.
The player has been in Tamale since the end of the 2023/24 Ghana Football season, working on a permanent stay in Kumasi, but has yet to finalize his move.
Mohammed, a professional nurse and footballer, joined Asante Kotoko SC from Real Tamale United last season but was unable to secure a permanent move due to documentation issues. To have full concentration for the upcoming season, he must finalize his move and settle in Kumasi.
The Interim Management Committee (IMC) and the technical team of the club have given him extra days to sort out his situation before fully joining the team for their preparation for their upcoming game against Accra Hearts of Oak on July 17, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Asante Kotoko SC is gearing up for a new season with a largely new team after parting ways with over twenty players from last season’s squad.
The experienced center half will be crucial in leading the team’s defense, which is expected to be a key factor in their success.
