Ghanaian giants FC Samartex are set to make their debut in the CAF Champions League as they take on Victoria United of Cameroon in the preliminary round of the competition.
The draw for the prelims was held on July 11, with Samartex placed in Pot 3, ahead of the draw. This will be the club’s first foray into the continental club competition, and they will be looking to make a positive impact as they face the Cameroonian side.
Samartex will travel to Cameroon for the first leg of the qualifiers before hosting Victoria United at the Accra Sports Stadium in the return leg clash. If they manage to secure a favourable result, they will progress to the second round, where they will face either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic in September.
The games for the first preliminary round are slated for August 16-25, while the dates for the second round are scheduled for September 13-22.
In other news, FC Samartex have confirmed that they will play their group-stage games at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
