Hearts of Oak defender, Kofi Agbesimah, has spoken out about his sacking from training by head coach Aboubakar Ouattara.
The 27-year-old was dismissed from training on Monday and Tuesday after requesting to terminate his contract with the club, citing various issues.
Agbesimah, who had an impressive campaign in the 2023/24 season, making 30 league appearances and scoring one goal, has been unhappy with his situation at the club. Despite having a year remaining on his contract, he wants to leave the team.
Ouattara expressed displeasure about his attitude and stripped him of his captaincy before dismissing him from training. The defender told Ghanasportspage.com that he is willing to leave the club and will take the necessary action if he doesn’t find a new team.
“Yes, it’s true [I was sacked]. It happened on Monday and also on Tuesday all because I said I want to leave the club. They’ve told me to bring an interested club so they will sell me to them but if I don’t get a club, I will have to take the necessary action,” Agbesimah told ghanasportspage.com.
The club has yet to comment on Agbesimah’s proposed contract termination as they prepare for their upcoming match against rivals Asante Kotoko in the Democracy Cup.
