Former Ghana Premier League Champions Asante Kotoko Kotoko SC continue with their mass squad overhaul and enterprising defender Yahaya Dawuni is the latest player to have his contract terminated in Kumasi.
The Porcupine Warriors have so far parted ways with almost 23 players since the end of the 2023/24 football season and are looking to find suitable replacements for them before the new season commences.
The 20-year-old joined the Reds last summer after an impressive spell with first division side Susubiribi United but struggled to command much playing time during his time with the heavyweights.
Despite having two years left in his contract and not given the opportunity to showcase what he’s got, coach Prosper Narteh Ogum feels Dawuni’s service won’t be needed in the upcoming season hence called for the abrogation of his contract which had two years left.
Yahaya Dawuni is definitely set to seek for a new challenge for the young defender with clubs like Legon Cities FC and Heart of Lions all expressing interest.
